To me, first and foremost, creativity is a passion not a profession. The ultimate personal process that communicates what my eyes and my soul see and feel, to what my hands put into paint on a canvas. It is a vision that will only be effectively communicated via this process to the viewer and world around me. It has been a long journey to identify; it is why I paint.
I do not consider visual creativity a natural born gift. To me it is more a combination of a unique vision, a lot of desire, and a need to communicate what you see, to others. A life-long journey that demands nurturing, practice, and a lot of patience to develop into a language that is your own.
I paint what I see and feel in the world around me. Nature reveals to me in her complex changing beauty, ever fleeting moments of grandeur, deep complexity, and her ultimate frailty. In this balance, I find an infinite palette of colors, shapes, moods and energy that come together in her personal ever-changing dance. I find my energy and passion in capturing these simple and yet amazing moments of nature's simplest beauty on canvas, before they are forever changed.
I hope others see them for what they are. I am just capturing what I see, to share what has already been created.
